Description

Intricately designed hinged ornate links. This sweet chain is stamped with the French Eagles head standard 18 CT Gold on numerous parts of the chain.

The design is circle and square formed links, quite like nothing else I have come across before. Finished off nicely with a box and tongue clasp which is nicely decorated too.

Furnished also with a sweet safety chain and catch for added security.

Period Early 1900…Could be as early as The house of Bonaparte, Second Empire (1852-1870). The Eagles’ head is always a difficult one to pin down. It is not an exact science and indeed can pose questions to the most trained of eyes.

The eagle’s look and the direction it is facing can all dictate its period. 

With this particular piece, the intricacy of the work dictates an early period of classical workmanship.
